FAQs

  • I work with all adults aged 18+.

I don't currently work with children or with couples/families.

If you're looking for this kind of support, feel free to get in touch and I will do my best to signpost you for suitable support.

  • We will discuss this in detail when we start working together.

I'll explain how I will maintain your confidentiality and uphold the ethical standards of the BACP.

  • The sliding scale is designed to make counselling affordable for people with different financial circumstances. I understand that everyone’s situation is unique, so this approach allows you to receive the support you need without undue financial strain.

If you're in a position to pay closer to £60, it helps to support those who may only be able to afford £40, ensuring I can continue offering flexible rates to all clients.

There's no need to provide proof of income or justify the amount you choose. I trust that you'll select the rate that is right for you, and this is an entirely judgment-free process.

If your financial situation changes over time, you're welcome to adjust the amount you pay. My priority is to provide ongoing support in a way that remains sustainable for both of us.

If you have any questions or concerns about the sliding scale, please feel free to discuss them with me. I want to ensure you feel comfortable with the arrangement.

  • If you are looking for support in a crisis then here are some suggestions of organisations that you can contact:

  • I have experience with both online and in-person therapy, and I believe both methods are equally effective.

Online therapy helps break down various barriers and can eliminate travel time and can fit more easily around your schedule.

It also means I can work with you no matter where you are in the country.

You can receive therapy from the comfort of your own environment.

  • Counselling is unregulated in the UK, so it's important to find someone who has the requisite training, experience, supervision, and insurance.

As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy I am required to evidence my training, supervision, and commitment to professional development.

Hopefully my website has given you a sense of who I am and how I work.

Beyond this, the most important factor is whether or not you feel that you can connect, and build a relationship.

I've been in your shoes and I would honestly say that this is a 'gut feeling'.
